Information for users on the processing of personal data

Pursuant to Article 13 of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 (“Code regarding the protection of personal data”), we inform users of the www.ingenium-magazine.it site that the processing of their personal data will be based on principles of fairness, legality and transparency, and protection of their confidentiality and rights.

The personal data provided by users or acquired through use of the Ingenium site will be processed for the purposes mentioned below: a) purposes strictly connected to and/or instrumental for use of the content made available on the www.ingenium-magazine.it site as well as fulfillment of the requests submitted from time to time by users through the site, including by e-mail; b) purposes related to fulfillment of the obligations required by law, regulations and European Community legislation.

During consultation of the site, information useful for improving and customizing use of the site by users and for ensuring security of the service may be acquired automatically. This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who connect to the site, URL (Uniform Resource Locator) addresses of resources requested, time of request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of response from the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters regarding the operating system and the computing environment of users. The collection and processing of these data will be carried out directly by the Data Controller or by third-party companies that provide services of any kind of statistical web traffic data processing.

In the event that users register to access specific services or functionalities of the site, the data provided will also be treated according to the legislation in force; with regard to subscription to the Newsletter service, users may suspend the reception of messages at any time by following the instructions on the site.

All the aforementioned data will be processed with the help of computer tools and will be stored in the archives of the Data Controller, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.a, Via San Martino della Battaglia 56, 00148 Rome.

Users may exercise their rights vis-a-vis the data controller at any time under Art. 7 of Legislative Decree No. 196 of 30 June 2003, which, for convenience, we reproduce here.

1 – The person concerned has the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of the personal data concerning him or her, even though it has not yet been recorded, and for it to be communicated in an intelligible form.

2 – The person concerned has the right to be informed: a) of the source of the personal data; b) of the purposes and methods of the processing; c) of the logic applied to the processing, if the latter is carried out with the help of electronic means; d) of the identification data concerning data controller, data processors and the representative designated as per Section 5(2); e) of the entities or categories of entity to whom or which the personal data may be communicated and who or which may get to know said data in their capacity as designated representative(s) in the State’s territory, data processor(s) or person(s) in charge of the processing.

3 – The person concerned has the right to obtain: a) updating, rectification or, where interested therein, integration of the data; b) erasure, anonymization or blocking of data that have been processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which they have been collected or subsequently processed; c) certification to the effect that the operations as per letters a) and b) have been notified, as also related to their contents, to the entities to whom or which the data were communicated or disseminated, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate effort compared with the right that is to be protected.

4 – The person concerned has the right to object, in whole or in part: a) on legitimate grounds, to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, even though they are relevant to the purpose of the collection; b) to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, where it is carried out for the purpose of sending advertising materials or direct selling or else for the performance of market or commercial communication surveys.

The rights referred to in Article 7 may be exercised by making a request to the data controller at the registered office without formalities.
